Consulting Services for Individuals and Families Sometimes people need to consult an expert about the major life transitions of divorce and remarriage. As director of Divorce and Remarriage Consulting Associates, Dr. Ahrons draws on more than 30 years experience as a family therapist. She is a charter member of the American Family Therapy Academy and an approved supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Ahrons offers her guidance and insight in telephone consultations. She can address your specific issues, as well as provide general information based on her research and clinical experience. Phone consultations can range from a single hour to several hours, depending on the nature of the issues. In addition, ask about in-depth face-to-face consultation. Psychotherapy Services Dr. Ahrons has maintained a psychotherapy practice for over 35 years. She brings a wide range of training and experience to her private practice with individuals, couples and families. With a primary focus on relationship issues, Dr. Ahrons works with couples and individuals in all stages of the life course. In addition to her expertise in divorce and remarriage issues, she also works with couples to help resolve their relationship issues and with individual clients who are experiencing problems coping with transitional changes. Dr. Ahrons is a well-known and highly respected teacher, trainer and supervisor of psychotherapists. She was the director of the Doctoral Training Program in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California. Prior to that, Dr. Ahrons supervised and trained therapists in the School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin. She conducts workshops and trainings for psychotherapists nationally and internationally. Her office is in San Diego, California.
